Ski Area – Arabba, Sellaronda

The Sella Ronda is a huge mountain and it is possible to ski around it in a day via Corvara and Canazei. The largest inter-linked area on the huge Dolomiti Superski lift pass, it also provides lift-linked access into the valleys of Alta Badia (Corvara, Colfosco, La Villa and San Cassiano); famous Val Gardena with Selva, St Christina and St Ulrich and the upper section of the Val di Fassa (Canazei and Campitello). Another skiing benefit is that Arabba is close to the lifts giving access to the Marmolada glacier which provides excellent high-altitude skiing. A final benefit is the glorious vista all around, with the pink rock of the Dolomites formed into towering cliffs and spires to create some spectacular scenery.

Ski Area – Civetta

Civetta is situated in the heart of the Veneto Dolomites in the South-East of  the Dolomiti Superski area. Main towns: Alleghe, Pescul, Palafavera, Pecol, Zoldo, Selva di Cadore. 25 lifts and 90 km of slopes for skiers of all levels – altitude from 979 mt to 2100 mt above sea level. The ski resort is surrounded by breathtaking nature and mountain scenery. Skiers can enjoy night skiing on a long slope in Palafavera. 90% of the downhill trails are covered by artificial snow. It is easy to reach other ski resorts of the Dolomiti Superski area owing to the free ski-bus service. Very famous is the “Ski tour First World War”, which leads to those Dolomites peaks where World War I was fought. Civetta belongs to the one of the most beautiful ski-carousels in all The Dolomites.

Marmolada the Queen of the Dolomites. The Marmolada, with its 3,342 m. altitude, is the highest mountain in the Dolomites. Its’ northern side is covered by the largest glacier in the whole Dolomites group. The Marmolada Glacier contains the resort villages of Arabba and Malga Ciapela that are both linked together. The ski area can be easily reached with the cableways from Malga Ciapela and Lago Fedaia. There is “La Bellunese” a slope that runs from Punta Rocca (3.270 mt.) down to Malga Ciapela for 12 km. This slope is considered by international press reports as the most beautiful in the Alps and the Dolomiti Superski Area. It is a difficult ski run because of very changeable weather conditions.
Sellarondathe biggest ski-carousel in Europe the name means the circuit around the Sella massif across the four passes: Passo Pordoi – Passo Campolongo – Passo Gardena – Passo Sella. This is a series of ski-lifts and downhill runs, all linked to one another and set against a background of woods, rocky peaks and expanses of snow. Joining the skiing circuit is easy: just follow the roads that take you to one of the four villages around the Sella mountain: Selva di Val Gardena, Corvara, Canazei, Arabba. The length of the circuit, including both, ski lifts and ski runs, is about 65 km at the altitudes from 1465 mt till 2300 mt above sea level.

Ski area – Kronplatz

Kronplatz The number one skiing mountain in South Tyrol.
The Kronplatz mountain, with its 2,275 meters high summit and its beloved bald head, is visible from every vantage point in the valley. Pure and simple, Kronplatz is one of the major skiing areas in South Tyrol.In the valley and on the slopes you will find fun, a great atmosphere, traditional mountain huts, regional delicacies and relaxing après-ski. The Kronplatz skiing region can offer more than 100 km of excellently prepared slopes. From three sides, 31 modern lifts lead up onto the wide, generally tree-free and gently sloping cusp of this panoramic mountain. The skiing area of Kronplatz has the most modern and comfortable lifts. Thanks to their large carrying capacity of more than 6,390 people per hour the lifts are not crowded. The slopes are able to satisfy even the most demanding of skiers. State-of-the-art compact snow machines and high-performance ski-slope maintenance equipment, along with an army of around 300 staff, ensure optimum slope conditions at all times. From Winter 06/07 there is a new direct connection (“Piculin lift) to the Alta Badia and Sella Runde skiing region.
Those of you who wish to practice cross country skiing can follow the routes that are used in the World Cup events in Antholz and Gsieser Tal Valley.

Ski Area – San Martino Di Castrozza

Mountain range:
The Ski Area San Martino di Castrozza, Passo Rolle and Primiero is one of the 12 different ski areas in the huge Dolomiti Superski carousel. San Martino boasts over 60 km of slopes between 1,404 m and 2,357m, served by 25 ski lifts; one cable car, 2 automatic coupling cabin lifts, 15 chairlifts and 7 drag lifts. The carrying capacity is almost 3,000 people per hour. Waiting times are very short thanks to recent renovation of the  ski lifts 95% of the ski area is always in excellent skiing condition, guaranteed by advanced artificial snowmaking facilities. San Martino di Castrozza has preserved all the spirit and charm of an elegant and lively “Alpine capital”. Ski Area – Tre Valli

Mountain range:
Tre Valli ski resort consists of three parts: San Pellegrino Pass, Moena – Alpe di Lusia and Falcade, it belongs to The Dolomiti Superski Area and offers over 100 km of perfectly prepared ski trails (altitude 1100 m – 2500 m). Tre Valli is one of the widest, most exciting and best equipped ski areas in the Dolomites. The ski runs in 95% of the area are served with an artificial snow system. Moena – Alpe di Lusia – a very modern ski center with 8 new ski lifts and 40 km ski runs. Passo San Pellegrino – the most beautiful pass in Dolomites with a magical landscape, it is connected to Moena thanks to an efficient ski bus service. At Passo you find 11 ski lifts and the ski runs are served with an artificial snow system. The cableway “Col Margherita” leads directly to Falcade.

 

Falcade ski area is famous for its stunning and fascinating landscape. It has 7 ski lifts and, like the whole Trevalli ski area, provides slopes with different difficulty levels. Tre valli ski resort offers also 40 km of cross-country ski trails.

Ski Area Val Di Fassa

Mountain range:
Val di Fassa lies in the heart of the Eastern Dolomites, surrounded by Roda di Vael, the Catinaccio, the majestic peaks of Sassolungo and the massive bulk of Sella and the Marmolada. The crown is completed in the south by the Valacia subgroup with Cima Undici and Cima Dodici, and the slopes of the Monzoni chain. A real geological and mineralogical paradise!

Skiing in Val di Fassa
means you can ski in a different area every day according to your inclination and skill. Several ski tours cater for the more advanced skier, including the Sellaronda or Tour of the Four Passes, the evocative “Tour of the First World War”, the Tour of the Three Valleys and the Skitour Panorama.

The choice of ski areas suitable for families with children is ample and includes, in particular, San Pellegrino, Catinaccio, Buffaure and Ciampac. Val di Fassa also offers its’ guests over 50 kilometers of cross-country trails, (70 if the Marcialonga trail is included), subdivided into rings and tracks of various lengths and difficulty.

Town: Moena (1200 mt a.s.l)

An ancient medieval mountain town located at the entrance to the Fassa Valley, between the Dolomite mountain chains of Sassolungo,  Catinaccio, Latemar and Monzoni, and at the point where the S. Pellegrino River joins the Avisio. Today Moena is one of the most appreciated tourist sites in Trentino, located near practical and popular ski complexes: Tre Valli (Alpe Lusia – Passo San Pellegrino – Falcade), Obereggen/Latemar, Catinaccio, Vigo di Fassa, Pozza di Fassa, Sella Ronda. Moena is included in the vast circuit of the ” Dolomiti Superski” and of the “Ski Trevalli Area”. In the Fassa Valley you can move from village to village and reach a different ski-area very easily, without taking your car.
You can use the ski bus for free,all day every day and move easily without  needing to find a car park. The cross-country skiing here is ideal thanks to the facilities in the valley and  the panoramic tracks at the highest elevations. Part of the fame of Moena is due to its celebrated cross-country ski competition, the “Marcialonga.”
The after-ski activity is rich in entertainment, both by day and by night: ice skating tracks,  horse-drawn sleds, curling, sledding, sauna, cinema, bars, pizzerias, restaurants and discotheques.

Town: Vigo di Fassa  (1287 mt a.s.l.) A small, sunny and panoramic  village in the middle of Fassa Valley between Canazei and Moena. Vigo di Fassa is the ideal starting point for an unforgettable ski-holiday in the winter. It is located at the foot of Catinaccio/Rosengarten very close to the Ciampedie and Carezza Ski-areas. The Skitour “Panorama Buffaure-Ciampac” is connected with Sella Ronda and starts from Pozza di Fassa – only 2,5 km from Vigo. Town: Campitello (1400 mt a.s.l.) A small, charming and very quiet village located at the foot of the imposing Sassolungo and next to the Col Rodella ski facilities. In winter Col Rodella offers various and interesting skiing possibilities. The area is famous for its modern ski-lifts and a very modern snow covering system which guarantees the best skiing results from December until April. Col Rodella connects Campitello with the Sella Ronda circuit. In the center of the village there are shops, restaurants and apres-ski bars. You can use the ski bus for free to visit the neighboring villages of Fassa Valley – Canazei, Pozza di Fassa, Vigo di Fassa, Moena. A very famous and beautiful ski resort situated at the head of the picturesque Fassa Valley, in a strategic position by the Dolomite Passes of Pordoi, Sella and Fedaia. It has direct access to the Sella Ronda by  the Belvedere cable car. SELLA RONDA  is the biggest ski-carousel in Europe. From the neighboring village of Alba you can reach the ski slopes of Ciampac, and via Alba and Penia to get to Malga Ciapela and the glacier of Marmolada. The very modern ski lifts make the area of Canazei  a model resort in the alpine arc. For the lovers of cross-country skiing there are 50 km of tracks. Ski Area – Val Di Sole, Madonna Di Campiglio

Ski Area :
Madonna di Campiglio
is the most known and exclusive ski area in the West Dolomities. Madonna is excellently connected with the ski resorts Marilleva and Folgarida and the three resorts together have 47 lifts and 130 km of ski runs, with a capacity of more than 3,100 people per hour, 50,000 sq m of snowboard park and 40 km for Nordic skiing.
The lift system allows for free movement all over the mountains, and they connect with the neighboring resorts of Folgarida and Marilleva. The variety of its mountain surroundings mean that in winter it is possible to ski over countless kilometers of runs, up to an altitude of 2600 meters and with different degrees of difficulty. What’s more, you can set out from the center of the town and return there without ever removing your skis.
The resort has good cross country possibilities – there are a lot of charming tracks in the wonderful surroundings of Campo Carlo Magno.

Ski Area:
Pinzolo a well-known tourist resort located only 10 km from Madonna di Campiglio. It is famous for its rapid and modern ski lift facilities, that take skiers to Doss del Sabion at an altitude of 2,100 meters Pinzolo itself has 40 kilometers of groomed slopes and together with Madonna di Campiglio and Marilleva/Folgarida  the total length becomes an amazing 120 kilometers Snow is guaranteed all season long. The runs – which are above all medium difficulty – are also suitable for beginners, while the more demanding skiers will find the right slopes for improving their technique.

(mt. 1550 m) – the pearl of the Brenta Dolomites – a very famous, stylish and traditional ski resort located in the stupendous valley between the Brenta Dolomites and the glaciers of Adamello and Presanella. It has many shops, fashion boutiques, pubs, restaurants and an excellent nightlife.

Ski Area Val Di Sole Paganella

Mountain range:
Paganella (2125 m) offers 60 km of ski trails of different difficulty levels. The ski area has 19 technologically advanced ski lifts, fully connected, with an hourly capacity of 2,600 people. There are two 8-person cable cars, three 4-person chairlifts, four covered quad-chairlifts; the others are two-person lifts. One ski-lift is in one of the 4 practicing area for beginners.

The Paganella ski area is able to meet the requirements of every kind of skier thanks to a variety of ski-practice areas, the easy and medium difficulty slopes, and the slopes for expert skiers.
The ability to provide artificial snow on these slopes guarantees fully ski able slopes from December to the end of the season. 95% of the downhill trails are covered by artificial snow.

The “Ski pass Paganella – Brenta” is part of the “Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta”.

Town:
Andalo (mt. 1040) – right by the Paganella cable cars located on a wide plateau between the Brenta Dolomites and the Paganella massif. It offers a wide range of bars and restaurants, and sport facilities to satisfy any need. It is a ideal place for families.
Access to two ski lifts is situated in the center of the village at the base of the slopes.This allows skiers to either ski back directly to the center of the village or choose to ride back in comfort at the end of the day .
The sport center, which covers a green area of 100,000 mq. boarding the Natural Park Adamello Brenta, offers a wide range of sport activities:
• public swimming pools – 25m indoor swimming pool with 8 lanes, children’s pool with slide and water games,
• indoor Ice Stadium (60m x 28 m)
• gym with a volleyball and basketball pitch.

Ski Area – Val Gardena

Selva and Santa Cristina are virtually joined to make up the largest resort on the Sella Ronda circuit with 175km of runs. It is a big domain, with a highly efficient lift system, 120km of snowmaking coverage, great scenery and generally good value. Children get a better deal here than at many other Italian resorts, with under-sevens going free. German is spoken here and many locals call Selva ‘Wolkenstein’.

Selva Val Gardena  (1.563 mt a.s.l.)

One of the most popular winter holiday destinations, a very nice village located among the mountains Sassolungo, Puez and the Sella Group. Placed in the heart of the skiing carousel of the “Sella Ronda”, Selva offers kilometers of runs for exciting ski descents and a lot of fun and enjoyment thanks to ice-skating, sledding, snow-shoeing, ski mountaineering, ice-climbing and so much more. It is a very lively resort with a lot of shops, restaurants, pizzerias, bars, mountain huts and more.

Santa Christina (1.428 mt a.s.l.)

A very attractive ski resort that lies on the sunny side of the Val Gardena, in front of the Sassolungo. It is a pleasant location for winter holiday as it offers easy access to all ski slopes, being at the base of the Monte Pana, Ciampinoi, Col Raiser and Seceda lifts. Santa Christina is famous for its charming center, good eating and apres-ski entertainment.
