„RESPECT – Safety is not a game“, the campaign for greater safety on the ski slopes

Dolomiti Superski always dedicates great attention to the question of safety on the ski slopes, promoting year after year its own awareness campaign. Following on from a close cooperation with ski champions Manuela and Manfred Moelgg in the past winter ski seasons, Dolomiti Superski this year is making the most of precious suggestions coming from those having participated in the 2010 / 2011 competition which asked ski enthusiasts for their own ideas without any imposition from ourselves.
A high number of responses identified “respect for others and awareness of one’s own limits” as an important element to ensure the enjoyment of all on the slopes in an even safer manner. In essence the importance is to remember that one is not alone on the slopes but is sharing the space with others who are equally enthusiastic about skiing, and that, by regulating one’s own speed and style to one’s actual capabilities, it is possible to reduce significantly the number of dangerous situations and risk of collision.
The key themes are SAFETY IS NOT A GAME –  Respecting others and keeping within your own limits is the way for all to enjoy themselves and “TAKE CARE – Be careful, respect others and know your limits”
The key points of the safety campaign are available for all to see on leaflets and posters at skipass outlets and the uphill lift facilities. Dolomiti Superski brings to your attention that in Italy the use of a helmet is compulsory for children aged under 14 and is strongly recommended to all above that age also – ski in safety!
