"Col Margherita freeride experience" on Passo San Pellegrino and "Toè" on Belvedere in Canazei. The 2011-2012 winter season in the Val di Fassa opens with two brand-new freeride off-piste tracks for expert skiers who love freedom and a bit of adventure. The Ladin valley launches on 3rd December on San Pellegrino (subject to snow conditions), an innovative "park, the first "authorised" freeride slope in Trentino with a special opening party with music and ski tests by important sport brands . A challenging pilot project on the northern wall of Col Margherita – the result of a cooperation among Provincia di Trento, Comune di Moena, Centro Addestramento Alpino della Polizia di Moena, Ski Area Trevalli lift company – which offers the possibility to enjoy fresh snow in the best possible safety conditions. The safety measures in the "park" include delimitation of the track, appropriate signs, frequent snow-checks by staff, excellent visibility.
The slope can be easily reached by the Col Margherita cable car (2513 m), is more than 800 m long and waves along rocks, jumps and snow dunes.
"Toè" instead is in the heart of the sunny Belvedere ski area. Easily reachable by the ski lifts and longer than 1 km (uphill altitude 2.237 m, downhill altitude 1.934 m, a difference in altitude of 303 m), this slope guarantees strong emotions to daring skiers with its white hills and breath-taking views.

This winter, the pleasure of downhill skiing in the Val di Fassa combines well with the love for diving with the opening of a new water centre in Canazei. 680 SQM of water for a total area of 2400 SQM with three pools: a semi-Olympian pool (25x 12.9 m; 5 lanes from 1,35 to 1,80 m deep) a "fun" with water games (whirl, waterfalls and whirlpool), a pool for kids from 0 to 3 years old. From the pool area one can access the well-known "Eghes" spa, designed according to the principles of bioclimatology of the ancient Roman baths.

Val di Fassa is a real dream for skiing with more the 200 km of ski runways, 86 modern ski lifts, the renovarte six-person chairlift Sasso Levante (lenght: 1180 m; capacity: 2400pers/h) that connect Passo Sella to Col Rodella, 9 skiarea connect to the neighbouring ski district, many skitour, the most famous Sellaronda, 7 funparks for children, where ski instructors can change, transform the lessons into a game, and the valley offers a wide choice of cross-country skiing routes up to 70 km with the Marcialonga route. Every day discover new slopes also "Piste Azzurre" where the Italian national ski team trains, that has made Val di Fassa, till the next Olympic games in Sochi 2014, the federal center for training.

Back from the ski slopes enjoy, in the nice villages, après ski, pubs, shops, restaurants, have fun and taste typical dish. During the winter season there are many unmissable events: start with the Snowboarding World Cup which takes place during the weekend of 3rd – 4th December on the slope Pra dei Tori at PassoCostalunga (9 km from Vigo di Fassa). Night men slalom by the Skistadium Aloch in Pozza di Fassa on the 15th December, Marcialonga, international cross country ski race, on the 29th January, in Canazei on the 15th February Sellaronda Skimarathon, one of the most famous international touring ski competition run by night, in march Polartec scufoneda offer 7 days of telemark and freeride. At least in march there is the important gastronomy event of Trentino "A tavola con la fata delle Dolomiti".
